Portuguese Brazilian Colonial (King Jose I, 1750 - 1777) side chair.
Beautiful, antique, carved crest, skirt & knees on bold ball & claw feet.
Retains the original seat frame (with through tenon construction) and embossed leather seat.
The wood is Jacaranda and native to Brazil.
This type of furniture has a pronounced English influence due to Portugal's interest in things English because Portugal was an ally during the War of Spanish Succession (1703)
